DON’T WORRY TELL GOD YOUR NEEDS

When we watch TV news reports and read newspapers we often see more headlines that speak of doom and gloom than anything else. These things can cause us to worry. I think there should at least be an equal balance of good news and bad, or have more positive news items to fill our minds than the negative.

Of course we know that extremely devastating things happen in the world and we could be affected at any time. However, rather than worry we can be thankful for the good things we do have. I’m sure we have experienced the kindness and support of family, friends or colleagues in a time of need.

When I was moving home I felt overwhelmed by the sorting and packing that I needed to do. I felt blessed that I could call on the support of my friends. At different times a friend would come over to wrap and pack my belongings in boxes while I sorted and decluttered. Their presence made a hard job easier and I’m very thankful for their kindness.

A LOVING FATHER

In life we have a loving Father, God is there and we can call on Him to help us in every situation whether small or great. The bible says in Philippians 4:6-7,
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.”

On a stormy day there may not be any sunshine, and it appears gloomy. But we can remember that there are days when the sky is blue, the sun is bright and we felt good. Remembering those days helps us to recognise that this storm will pass and the sun will eventually come out again. It gives us hope of a better tomorrow. Let us trust God to provide for our needs when life is stormy and give us peace of mind to face each day.
