Freedom from fear

‘I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.’ Psalm 34: 4

There are times in our life, when we allow fear to hold us back. We can be afraid to try new things, we can be afraid of technology, we can be afraid of meeting new people, fear.

I recently discovered that there is such a thing as speech recognition technology! I have never really thought about it, I’ve always typed, though not very well. Finally I researched a little bit about speech recognition, then decided that I would play around with the software that already existed on my lap top.

I have an apprehension about using new technology. And after reading the instructions, trying to set up the headset, I found that the microphone was not picking up my voice properly. It became a frustrating experience. It also became a self-fulfilling prophecy. ‘This is too hard for me! ‘I told myself. It is amazing how our self-talk can defeat us if we choose to listen to it.

I made a decision to keep trying, but it still appeared that nothing would work. I prayed and asked God to help me solve the problem. He reminded me of a headset that I had found recently. I almost argued against wasting time to look for the old headset, considering that I had only recently bought the one I was using.
However, I went in search of the headset and after connecting it I found that it worked! I was so happy! I know it seems like a simple thing, but for me conquering my fear of technology is a big deal.

What are you afraid of? You may have little or large fears. Whatever it is, ask GOD to help you deal with it. Do not allow it to intimidate you. God can help us to overcome our fears, if we try our best to face them and don’t give up when we face challenges and disappointments.
