FINDING HELP FOR ANXIETY

When Anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.
Psalm 94:19

I love the psalms. It talks about life issues, feelings, and real emotions.
The writer says “When anxiety was great within me”, who admits to that these days?

Many people pretend to be super cool, that they are on top of everything in their life, unflappable, successful, that they have never experienced failure, never experienced anxiety. It would appear that they are living a perfect life on Instagram, FACEBOOK, and every social media outlet possible. OK so let us be honest for once and admit it’s NOT real!

Most day’s our life is busy with everyday activities, and at times we may have great levels of anxiety. Its OK to say we are Not OK!!. Will we continue to fake it and wear a mask? Or will we tell the truth… usually life isn’t a picture postcard that we want to post and send to the whole world.

When we won’t even face the true that we have problems, how can we get help and healing? After all only the sick go to seek a Physician, but if we don’t admit to ourselves on a basic level that we need help, who are we really fooling? Aren’t we hurting ourselves?
Keeping up appearances is stressful. Its killing us every day, It’s time to stop this insanity. Stop pretending and be real.

Its good to talk

What a relief it is to be able to share with someone who cares, and knows what is really going on in our lives. What a priceless experience knowing they can be trusted to keep our deepest confidences, and show us compassion and love. whether we are able to share with a loved one or a therapist its good to talk.

When the writer says “Your consolation brought joy”, you can almost feel the sense of relief that was experienced after he had off loaded and told God about everything that concerned him.

We can also find this level of love in our Heavenly Father. He understands all of what’s going on in our messy lives and when we run crying to Him, He consoles us, which lifts our spirit and brings us joy. We can talk to Him at any time, day or night, so let’s be real with Him so He can help us in our time of need.
